Painful Decisions

A patient is aroused with pain, wanting to be well again
Decided to see a doctor, the doctor he quoted a fee, and instructed preparation
Said to the nurse it’s nothing worse, there’s no need for separation

The patient, she argued the fee, then walked right out in anger
I cannot pay, and will not stay, the fee’s too high a number
When in great pain she returned again with money in her purse
Sure in her mind, that she’ll be fine and nothing will be worse

The doctor he, without a fee decided to do his best
There’ll be a reward, for a worthy cause and God will do the rest
The patient she was once more free from suffering and pain
Said nothing  is free, I’ll pay the fee, Thank God, I’m well again
