Suppose

Suppose that you were someone who was very far away, from your family and friends you were compelled to stay
Suppose you had a phone call and you didn’t even bother to take that call to find out if it was your wife or mother

Suppose that call you failed to take was urgent and important, maybe the news you get you will regret that you were so reluctant
Then suppose you had to take a trip to straighten out the matter, or to reveal the guilt  you feel by sending just a letter

If you could find within your mind a suitable excuse, with a good promise from your heart, sure no one will refuse
Think of the act and face the fact, and stop all the opposing, do not pretend, this is the end, so quit all of your supposing

My Favorite Teacher

I once had a favorite teacher who was pleasant, considerate, and kind
A persistent respectable person who encouraged me to use my mind
She gave me the guidance I needed and started me out on my way
She placed me on a pedestal, how I wish I could thank her today

She had much faith in me as a pupil, always called on me to explain
As an eager interested student, educational experience I gained
I cherished the thought of that teacher, without her class was never the same
The way she conducted her classroom, often brought her honor and fame

To my teacher I know I was special, just like her I wanted to be
Through ill faith it just never happened , hurt and disappointed was she
Today I must say that I’m grateful, that from her I have learnt a lot
Although old , still using my brain and mind, I’m giving it all that I’ve got

Friend

It’s nice to know that you have a friend who’s always there for you
A friend who is supportive in everything you do

Whenever there’s a problem, something you cannot hide
You discuss the situation  for in this friend you can confide

If for some unpleasant reason you feel that you cannot cope
This friend will think of something to uplift and give you hope

When there is an emergency and your back’s against the wall
This friend will quickly show up, all you have to do is call

If no one is there to take the call a message you can send
Through thought and concentration, you’ll reach your telepathic friend

If

If on you way one sunny day someone should ask a favor
If you refuse you’ll  hear the news, that you are a stingy neighbor
If you comply and only try to think that you’re doing something
You’ll realize, and be surprised to hear that you are worth nothing

If you only try to find the reason why you are ridiculed  and slandered
By someone bad, and extremely sad who is beneath your standard
When plainly told, of being bold and the comment was simply filthy
They’ll walk away, with nothing to say, disappointed, angry and guilty

Imagination

Imagine you are invited to visit a strange place
With address and phone number, you think that you’d find the place
The mode of transportation, is either bus or train
But you are so eager to get there, you decide to take a plane

You then purchase a ticket with a bright smile on your face
Imagining the good time you’ll have when you get to this place
You started on your journey with great anticipation
Just then you snapped and realized that it was imagination

The Talent

God gave us each a talent, he distributed it his own way
Some followed in his footsteps, and spread the good word each day
They lead the blind, heal the sick, and also feed the hungry
Some till the soil, and pump the oil, others are skilful and handy

There are those who mind the farm, tend the barn, while others like to cook
The home is kept by others who like to sit and write a book
The gifted ones play all types of sports, while others like to sew
The wayward ones get into trouble, and off to jail they go

Vehicles some just like to drive, instruments others like to play
Then there are those who roam all day, with no permanent place to stay
They expect there will be silence, when in pleasure they disguise
Trying to use another, and expect them to compromise

God gave us all an equal chance to pass the talent test
Some gave up on their chances, while others tried their best
They had the skill, but not the will, faltered on things they could mend
They’ve wasted all their precious time, now for them, this is the end

My Bouquet

I’m doing things around the house, the door bell rings and on opening the door , there was Robert standing with a bright smile on his face, and a beautiful bunch of  flowers in his hand
Instantly it brightened my horizon, the thing about it is, although he always brings me flowers he sometimes seem to catch  me unaware and that amazes me and that’s not all , he arranges them carefully and places the vase in the spot of my choice
Regardless of color , shape, size, or scent, I love flowers, the natural beauty created by Almighty God
‘                                    Thank You Rob for my beautiful flowers
I want you to know that you will always be a flower in every bunch that you bring me
                                 Love Mom

Listen

Dedicated to Ruby D. Farley

Listen what is it do I hear? Is it the sound of birds flapping
                              Their wings in the air?
Listen, certainly there is a sound, I am sure that there’s someone
                            Or something around
Listen I ask is somebody there? No reply but I’m sure that I know
                                 What I hear
Suddenly a strange, but gentle voice whisper softly in my ear saying
I ‘m here to guide, direct, and to protect you have no fear
                                     Just listen

I was sent directly to watch over you and to give you the strength to survive
From danger and harm I’ll protect you to make sure you’re well and alive
So listen, every move you’re about to make I am here to lead you
If you happen to slip and think you’d fall, I am right there to catch you
                               Observe and listen

I was sent from above to shower you with love, peace, prosperity, good luck
                                 And much more
Abundance awaits you, so be still and just listen, lots of blessings on you
                                     I will pour

Mindless

Each day you venture on your way, you face the world with pride
You may be sick and tired and feel the hurt inside

You never count nor measure ,you erase all fear and doubt
But sacrifice your pleasure, that’s what concern is all about

If there’s a situation you handle it with care, not afraid of confrontation
For you have no need to fear

Sometimes you are delighted  by those who use their charm, be alert
Prevent the hurt, and protect yourself from harm

You place your trust in others and treat them as your  own
Brace yourself for disappointment, it will be your payment in return
