Seniors

You don’t have to rub it in, we know that we’re getting old
But we can’t sit in a corner and do as we are told
Some of us can make decisions, where to go and what to do
Then some again are so confused and don’t know who is who

Without any sense of direction, on others they do depend
They always need protection and someone who could defend
Don’t pass remarks on seniors, for they have feelings too
Be very careful what you say and also what you do

Each one has something special, their backgrounds you don’t know
Place yourself in their position, then you’ll know how far to go
Patience and understanding must be exercised each day
For some are so thickheaded and want everything their way

The thought of being dependent frustrates them quite a lot
They do not want to loose control of everything they’ve got
Nothing goes on forever, and there comes the time to quit
So remember, just never say never, for saying never won’t help a bit

Wisdom

You concentrate each night and day on things you want to do
You must erase the thought of fate for God will see you through
Whenever you think you’re on the brink try to forget the past
For it is wise to understand, that good deeds you do will last

It’s also wise to meditate on the green celestial ground
The wisdom that you’ll gather is not easy to be found
It feeds you with perpetual food ,quenches your inner thirst
Encourages you to do what’s right and to serve the master first

Whenever you are despondent, press forward, keep the faith
Good things don’t come in a hurry, be strong and learn to wait
To concentrate and meditate they both go hand in hand
It makes no sense to hesitate for God is in command

Victory

You are facing the future it’s all in your hand, about yourself  be
                        Patient ,success is in demand
There are places you would like to go when you’re far away from home
Don’t think that you are free to go, be sensible don’t roam

You are expected to succeed, that ladder you must climb, don’t
Say you might, just hold on tight, look up don’t look behind

One day you will attain that height with dignity and fame
You’ll realize that by studying what knowledge you would gain

You’ll be commended with delight for a job that was well done
With your head up high, you’ll release a sigh, for the victory that you’ve won

Think

Think not only of yourself but also think of others
In God’s sight we’re all counted as sisters and brothers
Regardless of color, creed, or race in this world
We all are entitled to an equal place

Someone may be silent with a lot on their mind
Be tolerant and gentle, say or do something kind
We are all God’s children; there are things we must learn
Just the way we treat others, we’ll receive in return

Think about a way of what help you can give
To some sick and lonely person with no will to live
Observe, understand, and think for a while
What a difference it makes, by exchanging a smile

Think of how it feels when to someone you’re mean
Remember past times and the way it has been
Have compassion on others they’ll know that you care
It will help to release tension and release doubt and fear

When speaking of others PLEASE say something nice
Do not put down each other, just take my advice
Some struggling person, could be gone in a wink
Before you voice your opinion, just take time to think

The Golden Key

No one can enter through that door without the golden key
Across the hall against the wall that special door you’ll see
This door is all surrounded  by people great and small
But they’ll find out the mystery of that door against the wall

That door needs to be opened to soothe misery and pain
To conquer the temptation when there’s nothing you can gain
If you should open up that door  you have no need to fear
With faith and trust you’ll realize that the golden key is prayer

Different People

There are different types of people their backgrounds we don’t know
We always mingle with them where ever we may go
The street, the train, the bus, the plane, from every different angle
On the job, in a show wherever we go , we wind up in a tangle

The different languages they speak we do not understand
The various kinds of food they eat their culture do demand
The things we hear, the clothes they wear sometimes bring fun and laughter
If by chance they call, and happen to fall, it could lead  into a disaster

It doesn’t matter from whence they came, they’re guided by the one above
Who ever we are, where ever we go let us show concern and love
Let us try to avoid confrontation, and exercise communication
Doing so we’ll realize, that we are all one size and a smart and better nation
