God gave us each a talent, he distributed it his own way
Some followed in his footsteps, and spread the good word each day
They lead the blind, heal the sick, and also feed the hungry
Some till the soil, and pump the oil, others are skilful and handy
There are those who mind the farm, tend the barn, while others like to cook
The home is kept by others who like to sit and write a book
The gifted ones play all types of sports, while others like to sew
The wayward ones get into trouble, and off to jail they go
Vehicles some just like to drive, instruments others like to play
Then there are those who roam all day, with no permanent place to stay
They expect there will be silence, when in pleasure they disguise
Trying to use another, and expect them to compromise
God gave us all an equal chance to pass the talent test
Some gave up on their chances, while others tried their best
They had the skill, but not the will, faltered on things they could mend
They’ve wasted all their precious time, now for them, this is the end
