You don’t have to rub it in, we know
that we’re getting old
But we can’t sit in a corner and do as
we are told
Some of us can make decisions, where
to go and what to do
Then some again are so confused and
don’t know who is who
Without any sense of direction, on
others they do depend
They always need protection and
someone who could defend
Don’t pass remarks on seniors, for
they have feelings too
Be very careful what you say and also
what you do
Each one has something special, their
backgrounds you don’t know
Place yourself in their position, then
you’ll know how far to go
Patience and understanding must be
exercised each day
For some are so thickheaded and want
everything their way
The thought of being dependent
frustrates them quite a lot
They do not want to loose control of
everything they’ve got
Nothing goes on forever, and there
comes the time to quit
So remember, just never say never, for
saying never won’t help a bit
